People always say to me that they don’t know what to do with their weekend, well this weekend you have no excuse, there is so much going on in London that it would be a CRIME to stay inside. So here is lanky girls handpicked not to miss events this weekend! I also post new things to do in London daily so make sure you are following me on twitter and facebook.

Thursday 20th September, 2012

Designersblock 2012, 20th- 23rd Sept 2012, 10am-7pm , Southbank Centre. Launches tonight! Expect to see various international designers including graduates from Kingston, Goldsmiths and Central Saint Martins showcasing their work in the great Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank. You’ll see many types of modern design including constructed paper lighting, lace etched mirrors, macs that measure rainfall and much more. Entry is free with pre-registration.

 

Starting today and until Monday 23rd September, Vodafone London Fashion Weekend is the consumer event that follows directly on from London Fashion Week, using the same exhibition and catwalk venue. Vodafone London Fashion Weekend is essentially a designer shopping event, where members of the public can shop from designers of London Fashion Week calibre, from the high-profile to the emerging, at reduced prices.

The East Ender Festival, @ Village Underground & Holywell Carpark, Shoreditch
The East Ender Festival is kicking off on Friday 21st September and runs until Sunday 23rd September, gates open at 1pm until 4am, except on Sunday when the gates close at 1am. The line-up is a stonker! Including JJ Doom (Featuring Mf Doom), Doc Daneeka, Mad Professor & Ariwa Posse, Prince Fatty, Norman Jay, Arp 101/Darling Farah and Cooly G!

Westfield Stratford City 1st Birthday celebrations kick off today and will be on all weekend! Freebies Galore! There will be Circus entertainers including jugglers, magicians, mime artists and more, Candy floss & popcorn machines, Cake pops, Photo booths, and shop discounts. London Design Festival, 14-23 September 2012. Looking for inspiration? With hundreds of events taking place across London over the weekend you will be spoilt for choice. The festival, running in its 10th year will be a vast array of creative events, exhibitions, and installations taking place across the city.

Saturday & Sunday 21st -22nd September 2012

Pop Up Screens is entering it’s final weekend… the season of Pop Up love ends with the brilliant ‘Toy Story 3′ on Saturday evening and the almighty ‘Dark Knight‘ on Sunday.
Both films will be screened in South Park, near Parsons Green. Doors open at 7pm and the films will start at 8.30pm. Tickets cost 8 pounds in advance.

 

Open House London is back! Hundreds of London’s most beautiful and interesting buildings will be throwing open their doors to the public for free. The vast majority of buildings are on a turn-up-on-the day basis. However, due to limited capacity or the nature of the site, certain buildings require pre-booking. Free copies of the programme will be available from libraries in participating London boroughs. Look through the directory here.

Saturday 21st September 2012

The Bermondsey Street Festival is an annual event, now in its 6th year. It’s a traditional village fete, but with a heavy dose of contemporary Bermondsey thrown in. This year it will have maypole dancing, fashion and dog shows plus an outdoor cinema at from 11am till late.

Stockwell Festival is in Larkhall Park with live music, comedy and cabaret plus market stalls, art activities, an inflatable village, fun fair, food and more from 11.45am-6pm .

WHO loves them some scallops! check out Scallop Sunday this weekend!
