Bloomsbury Festival, 19th – 21st October 2012, Various Venues
This weekend the Bloomsbury Festival kicks off with a very special outdoor performance of The Collectors in Russell Square today (Friday 19th) a spectacular performance of sound, light, dance and puppetry (in the dark) which will see magical dancing fireflies and other wonderful and whimsical beasts transform the park from 6pm. The Bloomsbury festival aims to give a taster of the amazing cultural life of this beautiful area of central London. Take a look at the festival timetable to see all the great events going on.

Portobello AND Golbourne Road Markets English Apple Festival 20th – 21st October 2012
This weekend to celebrate the humble English Apple, Portobello and Golborne Road Markets are holding a festival. Over the weekend visitors will be able to be treated to free sample tastings at selected fruit and veg stalls and take part in a cookery demonstration stall outside the Salvation Army in Portobello Road. Also in Golborne Road, on Saturday there will be a Multicultural Kitchen. Celebrity chef Rowley Leigh will be judging a recipe competition so get scribbling! The festival will run from 10am to 4pm on both days, and is free to attend.

Read for RNIB Day Wonderland, 19th – 21st October 2012
Today is Read for RNIB day and to celebrate they are holding a unique free Wonderland pop-up event, from Friday 19th October to Saturday 20 October near Southwark Cathedral in London to highlight the importance of reading and to celebrate Read for RNIB Day.
