This is ladies night and I feel alright…oh this is ladies night… Oh what a night! Okay I’ll stop singing now before your computer screen shatters, to tell you about my experience at Apres-London a boutique bar and lounge behind Oxford Street. Last week Lanky Girl was invited to their Olympic themed ladies night where we were treated to complimentary canapes and cocktails. I just have one word for this place awesome! It was like a very grown-up slumber party (there was a small group of good-looking guys there too hehe).
The ladies night was held in the basement lounge, which was dark, intimate and plush. A great place to host a party or take your date. Throughout the night we were lucky enough to be serenaded by a singer belting out an array of indie classics. My friend and I had such a fun night and the best thing, didn’t spend a penny! Apparently these ladies nights will be regularly occurring at Apres-London so I recommend that you join the Apres London Facebook page for updates.

With the Noma Popup coming to London all eyes are on Danish cuisine this summer.
IMAGINATION is a fantastic, free 17 day showcase celebrating the best of Danish culture, lifestyle, food and design. From the 27th July until 12 August 2012, VisitDenmark will be welcoming visitors to discover the very best of Denmark at St Katherine’s Dock in London. As London transforms into a sports hub, visitors will be able to take part in free Nordic fun, games, watch music and Danish sports stars live the big screen.
The festival kicks off with 3 food themed days to show off why Denmark is home to the world’s best restaurant for the 3rd year in a row and the world’s best chef in 2011. Nordic cuisine is spreading like rings in the water and Denmark is the gastronomic epicentre of this movement. The Food Organisation of Denmark will be bringing over 9 chefs from Danish top restaurant Michelin awarded Restaurant Geranium. These top chefs will be showing visitors how to make the best sausages from Copenhagen’s meat packing district, Danish smørrebrød (open sandwiches) and other delightful samples from the Nordic kitchen. This event is sure to be fantastic and shouldn’t be missed!
