I heard about Rastamouse from a friend’s daughter and at first I thought it was another silly dumbed down children’s programme but actually its quite cleverly done. I know there has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding it but the kids seem to enjoy it and I think the more ethnicities are representing on TV the better. What do you think?

Baking made easy..

Some of you may have caught Baking Made Easy last night on BBC 2. Baking Made Easy is a new show presented by ex-model turned baker Lorraine Pascal. In 30 minutes Lorraine showed how to make 3 impressive dishes; soda bread, fig and mint cream tart and a cigarillo and raspberry chocolate cake. Sceptical at first that this was another BBC version of Nigella’s show, I soon warmed to Lorraine’s smiley, friendly nature and her simple methods of cooking. She even got me wanting to get in the kitchen to attempt one of her creations myself. (And I hate baking!) You can sample Lorraine’s delicious cupcakes at her shop Ella’s bakehouse in Covent Garden and watch her show on Monday’s BBC2 at 8.30pm.
