Lanky Girl at London Fashion Weekend

Courtesy of Chambord, who make the most delicious raspberry liqueur Lanky Girl was invited to London Fashion Weekend. Now for those of you who do not know what London Fashion Weekend is, it is the consumer event that follows London Fashion Week and is held at Somerset House.

Chambord Platinum Lounge

Lanky Girl was lucky enough to be experiencing it VIP style in the Chambord Platinum Lounge. So much happened on the day but here are some of the fabulous things that I was lucky enough to experience.

On arrival to the Platinum Lounge we were greeted with two glasses of Chambord flavoured Champagne and some lovely cupcakes. We also had a masseuse who was on hand to give us lovely hand massages.

A lovely hand massage

We had a style consultation with the celebrity stylist Natalie Robinson who each gave us a rundown of what she thought suited our body shapes. Being a natural hourglass I was happy to find out that the power shoulder jacket I was wearing was a good choice for balancing out my hips. Gold star for me!

London Fashion Weekend is a great place to find independent fashion at bargain prices. If I wasn’t careful I would have seriously maxed out my credit card. There is simply too much to include in terms of all the amazing fashions that were on sale. Special mention for a lovely little vintage shop called Nariva Boutique which sells the loveliest bags. They had lots of croc skinned bags which are bang on trend for SS2012.

In the Chambord Lounge Elizabeth Arden demonstrated how to achieve the signature red lip for that classy forties look. This was popular on the catwalks at London Fashion Week.

Watch the video here.

In the vintage area Salon de OohLaLa where on hand to give vintage style  makeovers. Lanky Girl was brave enough to allow herself  to be made over. Going for a 1960s style beehive, Kohl eye and red lip. Not sure about the result but it was pretty fun.

After that it was back to the Chambord Lounge for a fashion shoot with photographer Fabian. It was time to get my “fashion face” on! Okay so I am never going to be a supermodel, but for someone who hates the camera it came out pretty well.

One of the highlights of the whole day for me was the Catwalk show. I felt just like a true fashion editor with front row seats.

The catwalk show was hosted by Britain’s Next Top Model presenter Grace Woodward. Osman Yousefzada showcased his SS2012 collection which was full of vibrant colours and silk fabrics. Osman’s designs have been worn by Thandie Newton, Dannii Minogue, and Anna Friel.

Watch highlights from the show below.

You can see more from the day on my facebook page.
